Virtual exibition: Time, Space and Self

Website Design/ Digital Immersive Art Curation

I curated a digital immersive exhibition for ten pieces of work in chronological order across three distinct time periods, tracing how artists—influenced by technological advancements and scientific discoveries—depict time and space to transform human perception and redefine our relationship with technology. Each section reflects a pivotal shift in the evolving dialogue between people and machines through artistic representations of time and space. As viewers navigate through the exhibition, they witness how technological progress continuously reshapes artistic depictions of time and space—deepening the connection between humans and machines.

In the web space, viewers experience a parallel virtual experience that becomes increasingly participatory as they move across time periods, from passive observation to active participation in constructed, ever-evolving environments.

LUCCI

Brand identity/Campaign/Graphic Design/Conceptual art

In today's globalized world, there are a few big brands dominating the world wide market. Consumerism and urbanization of cities have, to a large extent, contributed to the homogeneity among people today. As a result, people gradually lose their individuality, diversity and gets branded themselves with all kinds of societal standards. In this project, I created my own brand, LUCCI, that includes iconic products from top global fashion brands covered in my own pattern designs inspired by the Zhuang minority from China. The goal is to try and transform these mainstream fashion pieces into unique pieces that remind us about our heritage and create contrast between the majorities and minorities.

HOW CAN YOU CALM THE F*CK DOWN

Book Design/Multimedia Art/Conceptual art

Growing up in international settings, racism has been a constant reality. This book design project, inspired by the spike in anti-Asian hate crimes during Covid-19 and my study of protest texts, seeks to amplify the daily experiences of the Asian diaspora community around me in England. By extracting keywords and reshaping the language of a self-help book, I crafted a new narrative. Through drawing, collage, sewing, and vibrant colors, I set out to create an intimate dialogue with the audience, inviting them to confront the injustices faced by Asians and to connect emotionally with these experiences through a visual and typographic journey.

Life Cycle

Collage/Conceptual art

Collaging together snippets and turning them into puzzles, I sought to construct and deconstruct my every day life, capturing the constant cycle of order and chaos that I experience.

Firework giggles

2024 Projection Screening

Everyone has a unique laughter, yet all of them has the common power to spread joy. Laughter is contagious. So are fireworks. They both have the magic to bring people together. Inspired by this energy that unites us all, I coded a sound-reactive firework display that ignites with laughter and curated it into a firework show. Projected onto an eight-story building, this interactive show transformed laughter and joy into something visible. As each individual appears and fireworks lit up the night, smiles are spread through the crowd and into the air!

It all felt like a dream

2022 Video installation, Projection

Due to covid-19, almost the whole world was under lockdown. Meanwhile, so much was happening around the world-from the Australian forest fire, to BLM, the Asian hate crime, to wars-while these important, unfortunate events were happening, we were stuck at home feeling helpless. This installation tries to capture this experience. Now we “woke up” from the lockdown, it still all felt like a dream.
